AMREF is an independent, non profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is to “improve the health of disadvantaged people in Africa as a means for them to escape poverty and improve the quality of their lives”. AMREF has over 500 employees throughout Africa with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. AMREF has offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Tanzania. AMREF has thirteen National offices in Europe and North America for liaisons and fundraising. AMREF Tanzania, one of the fast expanding country office programmes is largely supported by multilateral , Bilateral and national donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDS/TB/STI, Family Health, Water and sanitation, Malaria, Training, clinical outreach and disaster management. AMREF Tanzania is therefore seeking to recruit highly qualified , experienced and motivated individuals to fill the following positions:- Job Objectives: To provide technical support in performance, Monitoring and Evaluation of AMREF projects.- Report To:Programme Manager - Global Fund
Qualification:
Qualifications & Experience:
• Post graduate degree in Public Health and health systems research, monitoring and evaluation and/or bio statistics.
• At least 5 years "hand on experience" at a senior position in monitoring and evaluation in NGOs.
• Proven abilities in the areas of conducting operations research, impact assessment
• Project/programme monitoring and evaluation documentation and advocacy.
• Superior analytical presentation, communication and report skills.
• Sound IT knowledge, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations and statistical applications (SPSS and EPI info.Etc).
• Good interpersonal and people management skills-a team player and builder.
• Good command of English and Swahili is an advantage
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and coordinate an effective and efficient Programme, Project Monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Develop and refine performance indictors to ensure that they are objective, practical, specific and cost-effective.
• Lead and support the implementation of programme performance indicators for results/impact measurement.
• Continuously reviews existing monitoring tools and adapt them accordingly.
• Provide technical backstopping in the monitoring and evaluation system in all AM REF areas of Operations
• Develop and maintain appropriate programme and project databases.
• Coordinate/assist documentation of best practices and Success stories across AMREF
• Compile quarterly and annual programme reports.
• Coordinate Operations Research in AMREF.
• Facilitate cross-country research on AMREF Priority Intervention Areas
• Participate in Knowledge Management in AM REF.
