SALARY: FSN-6 (USD 4,886 to USD 8,798 per annum) depending on the candidate's earning history, qualifications and experience. This position may initially be filled at a trainee level which is equivalent to FSN-5 (USD 4,330 to USD 7,798 per annum).
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The basic function of this position is for data/voucher clerk support work with USAID/Ethiopia. Part of these responsibilities will be to ensure timely and accurate preparation of vouchers for reimbursement of value added taxes for implementing partner organizations. The contractor will be responsible for completing the Value Added Tax (VAT) voucher forms accurately and expeditiously in triplicate of all VAT proformas received from implementing partners for at least 100 USAID funded Grantees, Contractors and Cooperative Agreements including AID/Washington funded activities, ensuring that documentation complies with the Ethiopian Revenue Authority (ERA) requirements. Person will also process documentation for VAT reimbursements for other Mission procurement actions for goods and/or services Person would maintain a full range of filing activities of the VAT documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, the applicant must possess the following:
EDUCATION: Diploma in Accounting or related other social sciences is required. Progress towards degree is desired.
EXPERIENCE: At least three years of experience working in international organization(s) as VAT clerk, WebTA (Time & Attendance) & FSN Time & Attendance or related activity is required.
LANGUAGE: Level IV (fluent) in English and Amharic.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Incumbent should have a sound knowledge of accounting practices and basic filing systems. Knowledge of Government of Ethiopia Revenue Authority Tax policies and WebTA would be preferable. The incumbent must have demonstrated adaptive skills since the position requires the incumbent to closely work with the Government of Ethiopia Revenue Authority on all VAT related issues.
