Kigali Language Exchange Director of English language school for adults

Kigali Language Exchange (KLE) is an innovative new language school for adult professionals in Kigali. We provide in-house teaching to businesses and organisations across Kigali, offering courses in General and Business English as well as specialist made-to-order courses in English for specific purposes.

KLE is a social enterprise that is affiliated with the largest student organization in Rwanda, the Genocide Survivors Student Association (AERG). By working with us you will be supporting AERG´s youth programme, Education into Employment (EiE).

We are offering an exciting opportunity to get actively involved in the development of our school at the start of its second year of operation. As director, you will report to the national coordinator of AERG. You will work on a part-time basis for 30 hours per week (negotiable). Your duties will include:

• Business strategy and development
• Marketing and promotion
• Curriculum development and course delivery
• Management of pedagogic resources
• Budget and cash flow management
• Recruitment and management of teaching staff
• Account management and customer care

We are looking for an ambitious, resourceful and visionary candidate to come on board with us at KLE. Ideally, you should have the following qualities:

• A qualification in teaching English as a foreign language (preferably CELTA / DELTA / Trinity or post-graduate)
• Experience teaching English as a foreign language to adults
• Previous management experience
• An ability to manage a budget and cash-flow
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• A self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills

• Flexibility and adaptability
• Interest in international development and the social enterprise aspect of our organization
