The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, is seeking for a dynamic, innovative, and self-motivated professional with excellent organizational, data management and people skills to coordinate data flow and IT systems in the HR office.
The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, known by its Spanish acronym, CIMMYT, is a not-for-profit research and training organization with partners in over 100 countries, focused on increasing food security and reducing poverty at an international scale.
Successful candidate will coordinate the developments and data management in HR, and provide support and advice to develop automated HR processes, with the IT department. There is a need for capturing and processing large amounts of data and analysis.
The position will be based at CIMMYT’s Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico) but will interact with all CIMMYT´s experimental stations and regional office (country and world-wide) on a regular basis.
The main responsibilities of this position will be:
- To establish data standards, accountability, documentation, data-curation processes, workflows, and timelines for data entry into the HR management systems as per CIMMYT´s HR management strategy.
- To coordinate the capture, storage, manipulation and quality control of HR related data for CIMMYT staff enabling accurate data tracking and documentation throughout the analysis pipeline, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation (including privacy regulations).
- To function as a super user who can deal with day to day issues related to the use of the systems, enhancements and special reports, and to serve as the contact person for data migration to a new ERP.
- To introduce new informatics tools, provide on-the-job training, and report back user requirements to CIMMYT software developers.
- To manage and document the dissemination of data (raw and analyzed) to members of the HR section.
The job will require that you:
- Liaise closely with all members of the HR section, knowledge management specialists, and software developers at CIMMYT.
- Interpret data summaries to determine accuracy and validity of data.
- Test user-friendly software tools for data capture, storage and analysis, as required by the various processes that constitute the HR function.
- Manage and provide feedback to software developers to help improve functionality.
- Conduct user training.
- Liaise with the IT department and other areas on a regular basis.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
- BS/BA in areas related to information technology.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and/or using informatics tools for the management of large-volume data sets.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to investigate and analyze with minimum supervision HR activities and to find solutions that will make them more efficient by using various IT resources.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others, including a good level of understanding of specific user requirements and needs.
- Good interpersonal skills and a strong desire to support the delivery of improved, products, tools and services to team members and collaborators.
- Excellent bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
- Ability to work well as part of multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
