Position Description:

Singida urbanwater and sanitation authorityis a public firm with responsibilities to supply sustainable, adequate, clean and safe water to the people of singida town as well as safe disposable of waste water at right time and price. The authority’s mission is to be one of the leading water supply and sanitation Authority operating as autonomous and in commercial terms. In order to efficiently carry out this mission and therefore achieve its objectives. SUWASA is looking for suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill vacant position at its headquarters. The authority is inviting applications from interested candidates who meet the required qualifications

Reporting to:Finance Manager

Qualifications

Holder of a degree/ Higher Diploma/ Advanced Diploma in Accounting, NBAA Intermediate Stage Module C & D or equivalent qualification with understanding of International Accounting Standards and at least three years relevant experience in a reputable institution. Must be computer literate with knowledge of Integrated Financial Management Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that revenue accounting transactions are timely recorded and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principle.

To ensure procedures of handing over of revenue collected are adhered, make sure collections are banked in the same day/ next working day (late collections), update cashbooks daily. You shall also submit records and reports to your supervisor daily.

Post, cast and submit to your supervisor all general ledger and journal entries for revenue recognition and related transactions on the fifth day of the following month.

To supervise revenue collectors and keeping all cancelled receipts under safe custody, report to your supervisor all cash shortage/coverage daily

Performing any other duty as may be assigned by superiors

Remuneration:Salary and fringe benefits will be offered to the successful candidates as per SUWASA’ssalary structure and incentive package
