We are looking for a Summer Trainee to join our advanced touch R&D core team to develop and productize a new capacitive touch screen technology. The core team works to refine the technology and to make sure that it is aligned with our future system designs. Each core team member is accountable for his or her area of technology. The development will proceed through multiple prototyping stages with increasing degree of maturity. Due to the novelty of the technology, the team is expected to generate innovations and IPR contributions as an additional outcome.

Role of the summer trainee can be tailored around the specific competence and interest, initially thinking of developing UI software applications to demonstrate the capabilities of a new type of capacitive touch controller or development and refinement of touch event based algorithmic sw. Besides standard touch screen operation, the new controller supports several additional modes of interaction. The work will be done in collaboration with a sensor algorithm designer, a middleware expert, and UI/UX designers. Due to the new and still evolving HW capabilities, exploration is needed and iterative refinement is to be expected.

There is also a possibility to find a subject for a thesis work.

Qualifications

-At least 3rd year university student in the field of SW Engineering

-Strong C/C++ and Qt/Qt Quick skills

-Experience in developing application user interfaces

-Good knowledge of detection and estimation theory or some equivalent mathematical discipline

-Fluent English skills

-Team player

-Independent and eager to learn new things every day

-Experience in Windows Phone application development is a big plus
