VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat was established in accordance with section No.29 (1) of the Public Service (Amendment) Act No.18 of 2007. One of the main functions of this organ is to advertise vacant posts occurring in the Public Service and conduct recruitment process.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill vacant posts in various public institutions as shown below.
1.0 THE MWALIMU NYERERE MEMORIAL ACADEMY
The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy is a higher learning institution under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. The Academy was established by Act of Parliament No. 06 of 2005 to provide training, research and consultancy services.
1.1 TUTORIAL ASSISTANTS – 3 POSTS
1.1.1 DUTY STATION: Bububu, Zanzibar.
1.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To teach up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma).
• To assist in conducting research and consultancy.
• To prepare teaching manuals.
• To supervise students’ projects.
• To counsel and guide students in academic matters.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.1.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1.1.3.1 COMPUTER SCIENCE - 1 POST
• Bachelors Degree in either Computer Science or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
• Applicant must not be more that 35 years old.
1.1.3.2 ACCOUNTANCY - 1 POST
• Bachelors Degree in Accountancy or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
• Applicant must not be more that 35 years old.
1.1.3.3 SOCIAL STUDIES (SOCIOLOGY, POLITICAL SCIENCE AND PUBLIC
ADMINISTARTION) 1 POST
• Bachelors Degree in Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration or
equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
• Applicant must not be more that 35 years old.

1.2 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT/ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN TRAINEE - 1 POST
1.2.1 DUTY STATION: Bububu, Zanzibar.
1.2.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To teach up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma).
• To identify materials to be ordered for the library.
• To ensure proper use of library collections.
• To supervise Library Assistants
• To assist in conducting research and consultancy.
• To carry out cataloguing out books and periodicals.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned y his/her supervisor.
1.2.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in librarianship or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
• Applicant must have working experience of at least three (3) years.
• Applicant must not be more than 35 years old.

1.3 ASSISTANT LECTURER – 5 POSTS
1.3.1 DUTY STATION: Bububu, Zanzibar.
1.3.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To teach up to NTA level 8 (Bachelor’s Degree)
• To conduct research, seminars and consultancy.
• To supervise students’ projects.
• To prepare teaching manuals.
• To counsel and guide students in academic matters.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her Supervisor.
1.3.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1.3.3.1 BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION/HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - 1 POST
• Masters Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or
equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
1.3.3.2 POLITICAL SCIENCE - 1 POST
• Masters Degree in Political Science or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
1.3.3.3 LINGUISTICS - 1 POST
• Masters Degree in Linguistics or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
1.3.3.4 YOUTH WORK/GENDER STUDIES - 1 POST
• Masters Degree in Youth Work, Gender Studies or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
1.3.3.5 COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT - 1 POST
• Masters Degree in Cooperative Development or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.

1.4 LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II – 1 POST
1.4.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.4.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To diagnose various samples in order to determine diseases.
• To keep proper records of the various diagnosed samples
• To ensure that the laboratory and its surroundings are clean and safe.
• To keep in safe custody all laboratory equipment.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.4.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Ordinary Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.

1.5 CLINICAL OFFICER II – 1 POST
1.5.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.5.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To make proper diagnosis of diseases and prescribe treatment to patients.
• To coordinate health and nutrition programmes.
• To prepare monthly report about health activities at the Academy.
• To assist the Assistant Medical Officer in performing emergency minor surgery.
• To carry out other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.5.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution or equivalent
qualifications
• Applicant must be registered with the Tanganyika Medical Board.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
• Applicant must not be more than 45 years old.

1.6 RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II – 2 POSTS 1.6.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.6.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To keep records of all files.
• To receive and file letters in appropriate files. • To distribute files to scheduled officers.
• To dispatch outgoing mail.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.6.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Form IV Certificate together with Certificate in Records Management from a recognized institution or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
• Applicant must not be more than 45 years old.

1.7 SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR – 1 POST
1.7.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.7.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To manage server operating systems including web server, database server and mail server.
• To administer and update website/webmaster.
• To train and supervise Computer Laboratory Assistants.
• To assist students and other ICT users in daily usage of computers.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.7.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Applicant must be holder of Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer
Science, Information Systems, Electronics or equivalent qualifications. • Applicant must have a working experience of at least three (3) years.

1.8 SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER – 1 POST
1.8.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.8.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To draw up manpower plans, training and career development programmes.
• To ensure that staff houses, office buildings and other estates are in good condition.
• To look after the welfare of employees in matters related to administration, medical treatment, housing, transport, etc.
• To ensure that all fixed assets and other properties are properly insured.
• To prepare, keep and update staff list and seniority list.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.8.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Sociology, Human
Resource Management or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must have a working experience of at least three (3) years.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
1.8.4 REMUNERATION

1.9 SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR – 1 POST
1.9.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.9.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To examine accounting systems and procedures and identify areas which need rectifications.
• To examine management systems and identify anomalies which need rectifications.
• To prepare quarterly, bi-annual and annual audit reports.
• To follow-up implementation of internal audit and external audit recommendations.
• To prepare annual work programme for the section.
• To carry out other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.9.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy and CPA (T) or - ACCA or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must be registered with NBAA.
• Applicant must have a working experience of at least five (5) years.
• Applicant must be computer literate.

1.10 ACCOUNTANT GRADE I – 1 POST
1.10.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.10.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To ensure that all accounts’ documents are properly filed.
• To approve payment vouchers
• To prepare revenue and expenditure accounts schedules and reconciliation.
• To post subsidiary registers, staff debtors, sundry debtors and creditors, fixed assets register, etc.
• To prepare bank reconciliation and final accounts.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.10.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must have a working experience of at least three (3) years.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
1.10.4 REMUNERATION

1.11 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT/EXAMINATIONS OFFICER – 1 POST
1.11.1 DUTY STATION: Kivukoni, Dar es Salaam
1.11.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To teach up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma)
• To coordinate examinations activities.
• To ensure safe custody of all examination documents.
• To ensure examinations regulations and procedures are implemented by students.
• To develop and review existing examination regulations.
• To assist in conducting research and consultancy.
• To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
1.11.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree in Education or equivalent qualifications.
• Applicant must have working experience of at least three (3) years.
• Applicant must be computer literate.
• Applicant must not be more than 35 years old.
1.11.4 REMUNERATION

ix. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will necessitate to legal action
x. Applicants for senior positions currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers.
xi. Applicants for entry levels currently employed in the Public Service should

xii. Applicants who have/were retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should not apply.
