The Project Coordinator reports to the Senior Nutrition Coordinator and is responsible for implementing the food fortification project. The coordinator will also be responsible for promoting the food fortification agenda and for advocacy and fundraising funds to allow us to expand our efforts in food fortification.
Major tasks and activities:
• Lead project planning, management and implementation.
• Build and maintain partnerships and relationships with a range of state and non-state actors working in food fortification, nutrition and related sectors.
• Act as a catalyst by coordinating activities between government institutions, non state actors and private industry in close collaboration with the NFFA.
• Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan and ensure monitoring, supervision and documentation of food fortification activities.
• Support efforts in demand creation and the promotion of consumption of fortified foods, including formative research designed to develop a social marketing strategy.
• Assist in the administrative and financial management of the project.
• Develop concept papers and proposals and actively fundraise to expand HKI’s efforts in food fortification.
Requirements:
• At least five years of work experience in nutrition, public health, development, or related field with specific experience in food fortification.
• A higher level degree in nutrition, public health, program management or related fields.
• Demonstrated success in programme development, including successful proposal writing and fundraising.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English. Kiswahili is an advantage.
• Proven ability to manage projects with strong initiative and ability to work under pressure.
• Proven skills in diplomacy, partnership building and collegiality.
• A team player, friendly, supportive, adaptable and flexible.
