Chatham House’s International Economics Department is seeking to recruit a Research Associate to work closely with the Research Director on a new project that analyses international risk and the interaction between economic and financial trends and geopolitical events. The Research Associate will substantively contribute to the new international risk briefing series. He or she will also support the management and delivery of this research project and will be the key lead and contact person for the project stakeholders. The Research Associate is also expected to play an active role within the International Economics Department and contribute to other research projects.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, capable, flexible and keen to work in team. He/she has the following profile:
- post-graduate degree in Economics or related subject;
- data research position in a consulting firm or an economic research firm;
- excellent Excel skills;
- thorough knowledge of standard economic and financial data sources;
- a good knowledge of global affairs and economic trends (good knowledge of China’s economy is desirable);
- at least three years of project management, including leading projects;
- exceptional command of written and spoken English (good command of Mandarin is a plus);
- ability to work effectively with a small and diverse team;
- strong communication skills;
- self-confidence and persistence when faced with a challenge;
- strong personal drive.
Salary: £29,855 - £37,018 p.a.
