Required urgently the Project Coordinator, Project Accountant and Extension Officer for Association of Iringa Tomato Growers Association Company Ltd
The Association of Iringa Tomato and Vegetable Growers Company Ltd is an Apex of 45 tomato and vegetables producers groups supporting a total 2250 farmers in 28 villages of Iringa District. The association was established in 2011 and the Head Office is in Iringa Municipality. The Association has received funds from Lutheran World Relief - LWR to implement a three years project to contribute to improving livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Iringa District through tomato production.
The Association seeks to recruit qualified, energetic and committed staff who will take the role of managing the implementation of the project. The Association invites qualified and competent candidates to apply for the following posts
Project Coordinator
Job responsibilities
Project Coordinator is an overall responsible to ensure delivery of proposed outputs and compliance to contractual obligations between LWR and the Association. The Project Coordinator will direct, organize and controlling the implementation of project activities and use of allocated resources. The Project Coordinator will supervise a structure of 31 implementing staff and will report to the Board Chairperson of the association. The following are the responsibilities and deliverables expected from the candidate.
Project Coordinator will be the in charge the project implementation including leading and managing project staff
Support the association to execute organizational and business operation,
Develop and maintain relationships and engagement between the farmers' association and other value chain actors in Tomato value to ensure benefits to association members
Support the farmers' association to execute collective functions for marketing tomatoes and purchasing of production inputs ,Support the association to practice good governance practices
Manage Project budget and expenditures including procurement processes
Manage and supervise consultants hired by the project
Coordinate and ensure that the project complements and avoids duplication or overlap with other actors in the tomato
value chain development
Representing the association in technical and management meetings and forums
Responsible in developing monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the project
Manage Monitoring and Evaluation exercises
Qualification required'
Bachelor degree in Agriculture Marketing or Agribusiness or related fields and minimum 2 years' working experience in
managing Agriculture Value chains projects
Demonstrated experience in working independently with minimal supervision
Fluency in English and Kiswahili with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven experience in facilitation skills in conducting meetings, training workshops and conferences with farmers and communities
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local government, private companies, non-government organizations, farmers groups and other grassroots organizations.
Proven experience in participatory Monitoring and Evaluation methods
Willing to work over 80% in a field
Proficiency in using Word, Excel, e-mail and web browser software
Must possess a valid driving license and be able to ride a motorcycle.
