Required urgently the Project Coordinator, Project Accountant and Extension Officer for Association of Iringa Tomato Growers Association Company Ltd
The Association of Iringa Tomato and Vegetable Growers Company Ltd is an Apex of 45 tomato and vegetables producers groups supporting a total 2250 farmers in 28 villages of Iringa District. The association was established in 2011 and the Head Office is in Iringa Municipality. The Association has received funds from Lutheran World Relief - LWR to implement a three years project to contribute to improving livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Iringa District through tomato production.
The Association seeks to recruit qualified, energetic and committed staff who will take the role of managing the implementation of the project. The Association invites qualified and competent candidates to apply for the following posts
Project Accountant
Job Responsibilities
Association Accountant is the custodian of project assets including management of the budget and preparation of financial reports.
The main role is to ensure that there is value for money for every transaction being made in the Project.
Specifically the Accountant will have the following duties and responsibilities
Prepare periodic financial reports and submit to LWR country office for review and approval
Advice and control project budget on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Document financial transactions by entering account information into quick books
Assist Association to develop and 'maintain accounting system for their use
Facilitate association
Develop and maintain project assets register
Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports '
Prepare financial project reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Facilitate association on the process of credit access and repayments
Prepare and maintain project cash flows
Secures financial information by completing data base backups
Provide time to time status of project account including bank balances and bank account statements
Guide procurement based on the Tanzania Public Procurement Act 2011 for major services of the project
Maintains accounting controls, records and reports following recommended policies, procedures and guidelines
Required qualifications
S/he should have the following
Holder of a degree/Advanced Diploma in Accountancy/Finance from a reputable higher•learning institution.
Working experience of not less than three years preferable with development donor funded projects.
Computer literacy will be an added advantage, .
Proficiency in written and spoken at least Kiswahili and English
Applicants with CPA/ACCA or the equivalent will be an added advantage.
A basic knowledge in accounts and a sound use of quick books is an added advantage
