SECONDARY CAMPUS - TEACHERS

Candidates with experience in leading service activities or other co-curricular activities will be an asset as will experience with curriculum planning using ManageBac. Candidates will be required to provide evidence of unit and lesson planning as a part of the interview and selection process. The Secondary Campus currently has openings for:

• Swahili Teacher

IST seeks a teacher who is able to teach Kiswahili language and literature as a “mother tongue” as well as to non-native speakers. The ideal candidate will have experience in using the IB curriculum and be student-centred as well as collaborative in their approach to delivering the curriculum.

• College Counsellor and possible Head of Counselling Department

IST seeks an experienced college counsellor and social emotional counsellor for the 2015-16 school year. Experience in an international school and with the IB Diploma Programme will be an asset. The position may involve the head of department role for the counselling department. Other desirable skills and experience include:
• experience with Naviance
• experience with a scholarship programme
• knowledge of different university application processes including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Netherlands, France, Germany and other European countries
• experience in dealing with student social emotional issues.

• DP / MYP Language Acquisition (Spanish)

IST seeks experienced IB DP Spanish and IB MYP Spanish teachers for the 2015-16 school year. The ideal candidates will have experience teaching combined HL and SL Spanish B classes and Spanish Ab Initio within the IB Diploma and will have experience in teaching IB MYP Spanish. Additional responsibilities may also include
• Head of Department -or-
• teaching Theory of Knowledge within the IB Diploma Programme.
