About Marie Stopes Kenya (MSK)
MSK is the country’s largest specialized SRH & FP organization and aims at expanding healthcare equity focusing on increasing access to and uptake of SRH/ FP services among the underserved populations including youth, persons with disability, rural populations and the urban poor.
Since 1985, MSK has continued to strengthen healthcare access through the private sector, focusing on increasing SRH/FP service provision/ utilization through the private providers in Kenya.
About the Amua Project
MSK has been implementing a project that was branded ‘Amua’, a Swahili word that means ‘decide’.
This project was supported by the German Development Corporation through KfW and has been implemented in partnership with the Ministry Public Health & Sanitation, focusing on expansion of access to and utilization of SRH/FP services for the underserved populations.
The goal of the project was to reverse the downward trends in reproductive health (RH) and HIV/AIDS as prioritized in the National Health Sector Strategic Plan II (2005-2010…… 2012), in order to contribute to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
About the Evaluation
The purpose of this request is to seek a consultant to conduct a terminal evaluation for phase II of the project.
The overall objective is to assess the relevance of the project, its effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability.
Required Qualifications
To qualify for this assignment, the consultant should have proven Health Systems Research Skills and experience in the healthcare financing.
Previous experience in evaluating social franchising models of healthcare financing will be a plus.
In addition, the consultants must hold at least a Masters Degree in Economics/ Health Economics/ Public Health/ Health Systems Management/Health Informatics/Anthropology/Community health & Development.
The lead consultant should have at least 5 years of relevant experience offering similar services and should be of outstanding integrity.
Expression of Interest (EOI)
To access the full TOR, qualified consultants should send their expressions of interest to pd@mariestopes.or.ke indicating Ref/Amua/ETE/2012 as the subject item, by 2nd/11/ 2012.
The EOI should provide detailed information on the firm’s profile and experience/ expertise in conducting similar assignment, including contact details of organizations previously worked for and CVs for key personnel for the assignment.
Candidates will be evaluated for prequalification and successful consultants will receive the TOR by 6th/ 11/ 2012.
