Lecturer – Functional Skills (hourly)

£13.00 - £24.00 per hour
We require a lecturer to teach Functional Skills (English, Maths and ICT) to students aged 16-18 and 19+ following a wide range of vocational programmes. The post will be based across the college’s main sites in Hornchurch, Harold Hill and Rainham and could also include some some delivery in the community, at employer’s premises, 1:1 support and small workshops where required. Ideally applicants should have:
• A subject specialist qualification in English (Literacy) or Maths (Numeracy) at level 4 or above.
• Experience of teaching Skills for Life subjects.
• A record of success in delivering Skills for Life subjects to 16-18 year old learners on a range of vocational programmes.
• A generic teaching qualification (Cert Ed or equivalent).
• A commitment to continuous professional development.
• The ability to create a positive learning environment to motivate and enthuse learners.
• A flexible, pro-active approach with good communication, interpersonal, time management and organisational skills.
