Save the Children in South Sudan is looking
for highly skilled and qualified persons for the following positions:
Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Akobo east
Period: 5 months with possibility of extension
Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Area Finance Officer and the Field Manager, the Finance
Assistant will offer clerical financial support to the finance department in Akobo by ensuring that records of
payments, registers and balances of different books maintained are updated as
per the finance rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure
payments are fully supported and properly authorized before payments are
done.
- Ensure
that invoices are properly recorded once received from operations
- Ensure
proper filing of documents and labelling of files
- Maintain
the purchase order register
- Maintain
the cheque register
- Maintain
and update the float register and follow the float policy
- Reconcile
the float register with the SUN system balance on monthly basis
- Maintain
a good system for the safe and cash box keys in Akobo office as per the
finance policy.

·
Professional qualifications in Accounting:-CPA I or
Diploma in Accounting
·
At least three year’s INGOs experience
·
Strong computer skills, especially on Accounting
packages such as SUN and Excel
·
Ability and willingness to work under pressure as
part of a professional team.
·
Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural
sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills.
·
Willingness to travel to field offices occasionally
·
Must be South Sudanese with valid Nationality ID as
a MUST
