Position: Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer
The ideal candidate should be experienced in financial management, business processes and organizational planning and should be able to work independently with no supervision. This person must have strong leadership skills, well organized, flexible and able to embrace the challenges of managing a large group of diverse people and businesses. Background working in an investment or holding company will be an added advantage.
The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. High level of written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are also important.
MUST HAVE:
Master´s Degree in Business Administration or any related field.
Managerial level experience in an investment company or group of companies with at least 5 years in financial and operational management of businesses.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and functional knowledge or practical application of various ERP systems.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style able to deal with various stakeholders.
Budget planning and monitoring experience for profit making entities.
Key responsibilities include:
Under the direction of the CEO provide strategic vision, planning, and operational leadership to ensure that the Group\\\'s investments compete in a global economy and increase shareholder value.
Overall operational management and control which entails monitoring and in some cases direct involvement in the operations of companies, participation in designing of policies and procedures and ensuring effectiveness thereof.
Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the various companies´ missions specifically, ensure better management reporting, information flow, business process and organizational planning.
Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (I IR, IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
Play a significant role in long-term planning including initiatives geared toward operational efficiency, profitability and better work
Work with General Managers and Finance Managers to ensure timely submission and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial/operations reports to the holding Company.
Assist in project development and management; planning, costing, implementation and monitoring of all new and existing projects in the core portfolio and co-investments.
Ensure market competitiveness of the Group companies´ products and services through adherence to quality and compliance with tax, environmental and industry regulations.
Assist in strategy formulation and implementation and grow the Group business portfolio and ensure profitability and sustainability.
Languages
Must be fluent in English and working knowledge of French, Swahili or Kinyarwanda is added advantage but not a requirement.
