There is an exciting opportunity to join The Fred Hollows Foundation’s international Programs team and contribute to the growth of our international development organisation that focuses on blindness prevention globally.
We are seeking an experienced International development professional to lead, manage and develop The Foundation’s Country Strategy in Rwanda and Burundi. Working as part of our International Programs team, this is a senior leadership position which will oversee the management and development of number eye health programs. In this leadership position you will be primarily responsible for leading advocacy activities through building relationships with key partners, governments and multi-lateral agencies to raise the profile of preventable blindness initiatives. Your expertise will assist to build the capacity within the team and across local partners. This position is based in Gisenyi with regular regional and international travel.
We are seeking a motivated individual who has a significant level of experience in leading international development and/or public health programs. You will be an accomplished leader who has a proven track record of building capacity and establishing operational excellence. Your advocacy skills, management expertise, and solid communications skills will ensure your success in taking our existing programs to the next level.
The successful applicant will also have solid work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, the capacity to work effectively in cross-cultural environments and have the partnership capacity to engage and influence senior levels of government, multi-lateral agencies and other relevant stakeholders to build strategic advocacy.
Your experience in full cycle project management, PC literacy, managing budgets, fluency in written and spoken English as well as spoken French will be essential.
