Overall Job Purpose
The Director, South African Card Management will support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Barclaycard US, to deliver business growth in his role of leadership for Barclaycard's South African card business. In this capacity, the Director will work with the CEO on all aspects of the businesses, to ensure that the strategy, planning, and governance for the three components of the South African card business are understood and managed appropriately. Additionally, this individual will work with BCUS Chief of Staff to ensure the appropriate levels of integration between the US and South African businesses.
Key Accountabilities
- Establish and coordinate the cadence of business, strategy, and operational reviews between CEO and the three South African card businesses (Absa, Edcon, and WFS). Ensure the appropriate "firewalls" exist between the businesses.
- Ensure key financial reporting is reviewed on a regular basis with CEO. (e.g. Monthly financial reviews, MTP/STP planning processes). To support such reviews, the Director will coordinate between the LOB's as well as ensure appropriate levels of support are provided by the Barclaycard Finance team.
- Serve as catalyst for the exchange of best practices between BCUS and the South African lines of business. Leverage relationships within both locations to connect SME's from both teams to facilitate knowledge transfer and best practice sharing.
- Support the Chief of Staff in developing and delivering upon business initiatives that support the short and long term strategic plans of BCUS.

- 10+ years relevant business experience
