Position Title: Field Coordinator Duty Station: Turalei, South SUdan Type of Appointment: Special Short-term, three months with possibility of extension Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible
Context
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Coordinator in Juba the Field Coordinator will be accountable and responsible for ensuring the overall effective management of IOM operations in Warrap state and contributing to the programme implementation planning and development, monitoring and evaluation of IOM activities.
Core functions/ responsibilities
Develop and maintain close liaison with local authorities (including the Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission), assistance actors (including NGO's and UN Agencies), and with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Assist in monitoring, assessing and evaluation of project/ programme activities/ implementation as well as reporting.
Contribute to the planning and development of projects/ programmes.
Provide support for field assessment and emergency response including WASH, medical, shelters, Non-Food Items NFIs). Coordinate NFI response on the ground.
Act as NFI and emergency shelter local focal point.
Monitor the set-up of a field office.
Ensure proper management of the office and maintenance of the IOM properties, infrastructures and assets.
Ensure updated inventory of assets, and stock in coordination with relevant departments.
Supervise procurement and logistics services; including contracts with suppliers of goods and services.
Support Onward Transportation Assistance team for local movements.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
a) completed advanced university degree from an accredited academic institution preferrably in Political/ Social Sciences, International Relations, or an equivalent combination of field-based training and experience; b) three years of experience (or five years experience for candidates with 1st level university degree) in project implementation/ management; two years of which in emergency environments; c) experience in office management and logistics; d) understanding of complex social political environments; e) familiarity with financial and business administration; experience in liaising with national and international institutions; f) previous experiences with IOM and with UN specialized agencies an advantage.
Languages
Thorough knowledge of English. Working knowledge of Arabic and/or local languages an advantage.
