Post: Industrial Director of Green Resources
Location: East Africa, first years: Sao Hill Industries, Mafinga, Iringa region, Tanzania later in East Africa (MZ, TZ, UG), depends on industrial development and market trends
General Objectives
The Industrial Director will be tasked with building our harvesting and wood processing operations, in order to capitalize on the fast growing local markets and to maximize the value of GR’s maturing forest. GR would like to rapidly expand the business from stump to customer. The company’s main focus over the next years will be on downstream activities, increasing the cash flow from our existing forest and this will be the key objective of the Industrial Director. The purpose of the position is to build and manage everyday profitability of the company’s harvesting and wood processing operations. Build and motivate team to fulfill goals. Lead and actively participate on sales, investment projects and development of new and existing products. Person will be responsible for P&L, balance sheets, planning, implementation and everyday operations (with emphasis to educating local team).
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead the harvesting and wood processing management teams.
- Manage relations with suppliers, clients and partners of Green Resources AS
- Responsibility on achieving of finance results.
- Increase sales and develop new markets and products
- Sales result analyze and comparing with competitors and world market.
- Budgeting and management reporting.
- Recruitment and education of local teams.
- Actively take part in developing finance applications and help to organizing financing for the company
Education and Experience
- At least five years’ experience on timber or mechanical woodworking industry.
- Earlier leading a wood processing /timber company or being part of larger timber company management team is advantage.
- Sales oriented and customer focus
- Able to read and understand finance reports
- Able to see big picture and if necessary concentrate on details.
- Strong team building skills
- Readiness to live and work in Tanzania/East Africa to 3-5 years (or more)
Work will be carried out independently and as part of the GR Executive Management team, reporting to the CEO. it’s expected applicant to be leader and take full responsibility.
