Job Description

Dawaplus seeks a qualified Operations Manager to launch our business in Tanzania. The position will be based at headquarters and will launch and manage Dawaplus wholesalers and pharmacies to bring our products to market. The Operations Manager will be instrumental in putting in place: a team passionate about serving patients in Tanzania, systems that will enable profitability across the network, and a platform for brand value for franchisees and customers.

Responsibilities:

Identify sites, recruit staff, and conduct due diligence required to launch wholesale and retail operations in each new location.

Establish and monitor operating systems at each wholesaler and retail outlet in order to meet our goal of profitability at each unit in the network.

Systems include:

1. Operations

2. Finance/accounting

3. Sales support

4. Quality control and assurance of products

Position Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelors’ degree and minimum 7 years’ experience working in operations, preferably for distribution or retail of pharmaceuticals or consumer goods. Possession of degree in Pharmacy and/or advanced degree in Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management an advantage. Candidates should possess the following:

• Ability to manage operations across minimum 20 units in a network

• High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; Microsoft Navision or similar ERP system an advantage

• Experience in pharmacy chains strongly preferred

• Experience in emerging markets an advantage
