PART TIME CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITIES _
The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) is an independent Tanzanian not-for-profit organization that provides grants and other capacity building services to civil society organizations in Tanzania. The FCS'was registered as j)~gal entity in September 2002 and started its operations as an' independent organization in January 2003. Since its inception the Foundation for Civil Society has strived to enhance the effectiveness of CSOs engagement in development processes and poverty reduction initiatives.
To cope with the growing demand for capacity building and monitoring of its grantees, FCS is inviting applications from qualified, experienced and competent Tanzanians to join a pool of FCS resource persons. The resource persons are responsible for providing technical backstopping to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across the country. They shall be involved in part time work to undertake special assignments to selected CSOs, in a bid to build CSOs' capacity and undertake performance monitoring pertaining to the FCS key thematic areas of policy engagement, governance & accountability, civil society capacity strengthening as welI as conflict resolution & peace maintenance. The resource persons shall also be engaged in conducting due diligence exercises to the FCS grantees.
1. CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT RESOURCE PERSONS (40 PEOPLE)
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in facilitation of workshops and interventions planned for the CSOs.
Assist in conducting mentorship and coaching to CSOs.
Participate in FCS learning and reflection sessions.
Provide technical backstopping to CSOs through support visits.
Undertake 00 development processes for CSOs.
Carry out Organization Capacity Assessment (OCA) for CSOs.
Assist in documentation of success stories resulting from capacity building interventions.
Perform any other related duties as he /she may be assigned by FCS.
Desired skills, knowledge and qualifications
Master Degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent with minimum of 3 years' experience in working with"
CSOs and/or Bachelor Degree with minimum of five (5) years' experience.
(Excellent knowledge of the civil society sector and development processes in Tanzania.
Able to work as part of a larqe team with varying interests and demands.
Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to build strong and lasting relationship with stakeholders, clients and colleagues.
Flexibility and willingness/ability to travel;
A self-starter who can work independently with minimal support but can also work in a team environment.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of the organization and its grantees.
Excellence verbal and written Swahili and English.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring and coaching others.
