Responsible of all activities related to the pharmacy within the project/mission, in accordance with MSF’s rules and values, with the medical coordinator’s instructions and with the national and international legislation and regulations, he/she must:
- Ensure the quality and good organization of the medical supply processes, procedures and protocols, the proper management of medical stocks of the projects and, in collaboration with the Medical Coordinator, the proper use of medication and medical equipment.
- Support the Head of Mission and the Medical Coordinator with the representation and defense of MSF’s interests before the Ministry of Health and the local authorities, or the local suppliers, regarding questions about pharmaceutical supplies, in order to ensurethe projects’ stock supply, while respecting the national legislation and regulations as well as MSF’s protocols.
- Ensure close monitoring of national medication supply, in particular for projects where MSF works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
- Support and participate in all medication and medical equipment supply processes,facilitate the appropriate stock management and the correct transport and storage proceduresin order to ensure the availability of all projects’ stock, avoiding surpluses and expirations as well as stock-outs and by ensuring the efficiency and rationalization of it all.
- Ensure the proper keeping of all medication and pharmaceutical equipment. In close collaboration with the logistics department, supervise storage conditions, classification, organization and inventory.
- Supervise the operation of all pharmacies within the project/mission, ensuring the proper implementation of MSF’s protocols, procedures and supply practices that should be respected by all staff.
- Plan and supervise, in close collaboration with the HR department,the associated processes of staffunder his/her responsibility.
- Report on the medication consumptionand medical equipment distributed according to protocols, by signaling anomalies.
Required profile:
- Pharmacist Degree or Pharmacy Management Degree
- Minimum 2 years professional experience in hospital settings
- French and/or English (bilingual and other languages are an asset)
- Personal qualities such as team spirit, cooperation, flexibility, adaptability, diplomacy and organizational skills
- Available for a mission of 6 to 12 months
