Addressing stunting in Tanzania Early (ASTUTE) programme is a 5 year initiative funded by DFID which aims to reduce stunting 5 regions across Tanzania, using a multi-sectoral approach. .

Chief Of Party (Team Leader) I POSITION DSM . J
Job Summary: The Chief of Party (Team Leader) is responsible for overall management of tfle project, including managing all consortium activities, coordinating pro9ramme-focused strategic planning and decision making, and managing key personnel. The Chief of Party (Tea Leader) will serve as key liaison with DFID and an other agency counterparts, consortium partners, and alliance partners involved With tl programme.
Job Primary Responsibilities:
Providing overall leadership, management, and general technical direction of the programme, assuring an integrated vision among different components and actors, and ensuring programme performance. The Team Leader bears ultimate responsibility for ensuring achievement programme results and adherence to donor regulations.
Dimensions of the role:
Oversight of the full disbursement and correct use of the five year budget of approximately £21 m.
Responsibility for the' full delivery of the project, the disbursement of all funds for activities as indicated in the contract and project plans."
Ensuring that all technical specifications of the project are delivered to a high quality
Leadership and direction of Project team and. all project field operations, administration, logistics and procurement
Management and supervision of productive partnerships across the project consortium and sub-grantees.
Reporting on and compliance with DFID rules and regulations.
Adherence to Plan's policy provisions and standards.
Serves as principal liaison to DFID for the project.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's Degree in nutrition, public health, social science or related field.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Previous-work experience in Tanzania or East Africa preferred.
At least 7 years' long-term, senior-level management experience implementing and managing large, multi-sectoral projects.
Ability to politically-correctly negotiate with a diverse set of multisectoral stakeholders Within Tanzania including government implementing partners and local government authorities. ,
Excellent knowledge of nutrition and social and behavior change approaches, with an emphasis on stunting
Experience in integrated nutrition approaches including nutntion and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Early Childhood
Development (ECD), family planning and!or nutrition-sensitive agriculture.,
Significant experience managing DFID programmes, including previous Chief of Party! Team Leader experience.
Knowledge of key DFID regulations including, but not limited to, financial reporting standards related to UK Government contracts
Demonstrated ability to implement projects with rigorous timelines and deliverables and to track programme quality through don approved monitoring and evaluation systems.
Proven experience hiring, training, and supervising teams of international and local staff. .
Proven leadership, inter-personal and cross-cultural skills, and ability to build and motivate diverse teams.
Experience working and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, such as local partners, government officials, donor representative and international staff. .
Ability to integrate teams of professionals around common goals, as well as demonstrated ability working with host-country ministries and donor colleagues,
Ability to deliver results in highly demanding situations and proven experience of leading project teams in multiple locations
proficiency in Microsoft Office suile,inclu1:ling 'Word, Excel and-Outlook.
Ability to get up to speed rapidly, respond to requests at short notice and plan and multi-task:'
Ability to manage effectively under pressure, to work as part of a team or Independently, and meet deadlines consistently.
