International
organization seeks a qualified, dynamic and dedicated professional with a private
sector agribusiness orientation to serve as a Business Adviser. The successful
candidate will work under the supervision of our Rural Finance Manager to facilitating
access to rural financial services and business development to small holder
farmers to enable them identify and capitalize on opportunities. S/he will
focus on working with farmers associations, agricultural and marketing
cooperatives to enhance their output, in turn developing the agricultural value
chain in maize and rice. The position will be based in Morogoro with frequent
travel required to project sites in Tanzania.
Key responsibilities:
The selected individual will perform the following duties:
- Assist
on mapping of Producer Channels and
Value Chain actors
- Leading
Business Advisors in identifying entrepreneur’/associations facilitate developing
business plans and providing operational support
- Actively
identifying new opportunities and assessing market and program development
needs for farmer enterprises and groups investments, making
recommendations for action
- Develop
and Facilitate Implementation of access
to finance and develop market
strategy
- Giving
technical guidance to contracted external technical advisors, planning and
supervising project deliverables
- Working
with partners and collaborators to increase smallholder access to
production and marketing resources: information, technology and finance.
- Constantly
updating the organization’s knowledge base of producers associations and
value chain actors
- Working
with feed the future partners and collaborators to increase smallholder
access to production and marketing resources: information, technology and
finance.
- Communicating
internally and externally with other NAFAKA team members and clients
- Continually
assessing performance, project needs and future possibilities
- Developing
and tracking project budget requirements, preparing monthly, quarterly and
annual reports.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Agribusiness,

At least 5 years of private sector
experience in agribusiness with a background in value chain projects and
experience in business development. Book keeping and financial management
experience a bonus

Outstanding
English-language verbal and written communication skills.
