We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Fellow to join the Health Economics and Systems Analysis Group. The candidate will also become a member of the Centre for Evaluation. The primary role for this post will be to support the development of an online teaching module on impact evaluation of public health interventions in relation to the Social Determinants of Health Network. The Social Determinants of Health Network (SDH-Net) is a four year (2011-2015) collaboration project, financed by the European Commission which was launched in October 2011. SDH-Net’s aim is to strengthen and link research capacities for health and its social determinants in African and Latin American low and middle income countries in close collaboration with European partners. SDH-net brings together a consortium of research institutions from Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya. It is expected that the impact evaluation module will be integrated into future teaching at the LSHTM.
The research fellow will be involved in the development of teaching material, as well as coordinating inputs from other contributors. They will also liaise with the learning technologists at the LSHTM to oversee the development of the online product. The research fellow will attend annual meetings for the SDH-net project and will liaise with Mexican partners at the National Institute of Public Health in Cuernavaca regarding the course development.
Salary will be on the Research Fellow scale (£36,378-£41,313 per annum inclusive of London Weighting as at 1 August 2013). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service, including membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme.
We are looking for a research fellow to start as soon as possible. The post is full time for 6 months in the first instance; this may also be a part time post. This is a constantly developing area so there are likely to be continuing opportunities for research.
