Job Purpose
Reporting to the CEO, the Information Systems Manager’s role will entail support for the future strategy of the business and driving efficiencies in processes. The IT manager will be responsible for the IT systems: overseeing installation, ensuring back-ups operate effectively, purchasing hardware and software, providing the ICT infrastructures, managing service providers and contributing to organisational policy regarding quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Accomplish IT staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
- Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements
- Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective action
- Manage purchases for the IT function by overseeing procurement processes, negotiating with suppliers and ensuring proper installation of equipment and systems
- Ensure the proper implementation of the organisational ERP system
- Ensure integrity of the financial system as well as the general security of any other software systems and the general network
- Ensure that the company’s IT assets are maintained, serviced and disposed of in a timely manner; and that various licences are renewed on time
- Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data centre
- Verify application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented
- Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures
- Ensure that various users are trained on the usage of various systems/applications as necessary
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

Desired Skills and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized University
- Relevant professional qualifications
- At least 5 years’ experience managing a robust IT function, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge or proficiency in Oracle E-Business Suite is an added advantage
- Experience working with PerPay HR Software and Biometric Manufacturing systems
- Microsoft and CCNA certified; with relevant hands-on experience
- Good leadership, planning and people management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
