PLANT MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Reporting to the Engineering Manager we seek to appoint a Plant Maintenance Manager at our Bulyanhulu gold mining operation in Tanzania. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure optimum plant availability including trouble shooting and problem solving exercises to ensure equipment failures and downtime is reduced within the Process Plant.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for meeting all production targets with particular emphasis on availability of equipment and budget whilst, maintaining a high level of security.
• Facilitate and lead root cause analysis for major equipment failures and downtime events in the process plant and identify and implement corrective actions.
• Undertake analysis of plant downtime and machine performance data and in conjunction with the production, metallurgy and maintenance teams.
• Identify, quantify and implement opportunities that will improve overall equipment reliability and performance.
• Assist with predictive maintenance activities including vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography and hydrocarbon management.
• Provide leadership and guidance for the development of overall maintenance strategies for critical plant equipment.
• Manage activities of the maintenance team to assure safe, cost effective and high quality maintenance activities and to optimize the Company’s financial status.
• Ensure that maintenance practices result in maximum mill availability.
• Assist maintenance personnel to optimize the Process Plant’s maintenance KPI’s, including mill availability, planned maintenance, minimizing costs and improving housekeeping.
• Ensure achievement of optimum and cost effective plant performance and equipment service through active collaboration and planning between Operations, Metallurgy and Maintenance teams.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or other suitable tertiary qualification
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years experience in a metallurgical plant
• Minimum 5 years experience in a managerial position
• Multi-discipline experience is required, i.e. mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
• Extensive practical experience in maintenance management
• Proficiency in conducting failure analysis and in the use of root cause investigation techniques
• Knowledge of business improvement methods such as LEAN as well as a basic understanding of data collection and statistical analysis techniques
• Ability to work in cross functional teams
• Experience with computerised maintenance systems, e.g. Pronto .
