PhD position within Water and Wastewater Engineering (IVT-120/13)
The Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering has one PhD position available in the Water and Wastewater group for a period of three years. This position will focus on process development of marine omega-3 phospholipid products based on natural, marine raw materials. The project will aim to increase the added value by manufacturing high quality dietary products from under-utilized bi-fractions from pelagic industry. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with an industrial partner. Successful applicants must have a background in treatment process engineering and chemistry with knowledge of membrane technology and laboratory work experience. The PhD candidate should have a siv.ing./M.Sc. degree in civil engineering or chemical engineering.

Conditions of appointment:
PhD Candidates are remunerated in code 1017, and are normally remunerated at wage level 50, gross NOK 420 800 per annum before tax. There will be a 2 % deduction to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund from gross wage.
The period of appointment is up to three years without duties.
Engagement as a PhD Candidate is done in accordance with “Regulation concerning terms and conditions of employment for the posts of post-doctoral research fellow, research fellow, research assistant and resident”, given by the Ministry of Education and Research of 19.07.2010. The goal of each of the announced positions is to obtain a PhD degree. Applicants will engage in an organized PhD training program, and appointment requires approval of the applicants plan for a PhD study within three months from the date of commencement.
