Supervisor: Head of Communications, NEPAD Agency
Under the supervision of the Head of Communications of the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency or his/her delegate, the Communications Intern will be responsible for informing the public about programme activities and progress, improving public image and perception of the NEPAD Agency, strengthening internal communications, building communication capacity to increase and promote NEPAD’s visibility and advocacy.
Specifically, the Communications Intern will perform and carry out the following specific duties and responsibilities:
- Support Communications Officers to liaise with, and organise engagement activities for NEPAD with media houses before, during and after events.
- Draft press releases and disseminate after sign off.
- Research and provide content for fact sheets and policy briefs.
- Research content for leaflets, bulletins, newsletters and website articles.
- Support and promote NEPAD’s branding activities and production of NEPAD branded publicity material.
- Work closely with NEPAD programmes focal staff to research and draft website content including updating and producing new content.
- Tweet NEPAD messages, take and upload photographs, and manage NEPAD Facebook page.
- Provide communication support for NEPAD announcements, special events, conferences, meetings, workshops and related activities.
- Perform any other related duty as may be required.
