Position: Representative of the Lutheran World Federation, Department for World Service (LWF/DWS) Country Program in Ethiopia

Place of Assignment: Based in Addis Ababa

Starting Date: 1 July 2013

Duration of Contract: Initial contract of three years

Required Qualifications

1. Experience: Several years experience in the field managing development and emergency programs, preferably within the LWF system or partner agencies, LWF member churches or church-related organizations.

2. Education: University graduate in management, development science or social sciences, agriculture or related fields.

3.     Professional skills: Experience with ecumenical partners, U.N. and NGOs. Awareness of the general political, economic and development dynamics of the region. Strong organizational and management skills.

4.     Language skills: Fluency in English, knowledge of Amharic would be an asset.

5.     Computer skills:    Knowledge of various computer software programs.

6.     Commitment: To train national staff and communities to increase their capacity for self-help and development.
