in Need (PIN) has been active in Angola since 2006. The operation in
Angola is currently PIN’s second largest international development
cooperation mission. The education and agriculture sectors are the focus

People in Need is currently trying to respond to droughts in Bié
province by screening of malnutrition and distributing food, especially
to the most vulnerable population, mothers and children.
Location: Angola, Bié province (Kuito, with frequent travels to Huambo and Luanda) Starting date: November 2012 Duration: 2,5 months (possible extension by 9 months)
Emergency coordinator´s main responsibilities:
• Screening of malnutrition and organization of food distribution • Training of local staff • Local team management • Coordination with local administration and other stakeholders • Regular field monitoring • Reporting process – provision of all necessary data, reports writing, etc. • Needs assessments
Main requirements:
• Sound experience in relief aid • Knowledge of nutrition and emergency distribution issues is a great advantage • Fluency in both English and Portuguese (alternatively Spanish)
• Ability to organize and plan effectively • Ability to work in difficult conditions and bear hardship during travels • Ability to work under pressure • Openness to intercultural differences and management of multicultural teams
People in Need offers:
• Responsible position in one of PIN´s largest mission • Support by a skilled local team (head of mission, financial manager, logistician) • Participation in meaningful, sustainable development projects • Background of established NGO and well established mission • Start up salary: monthly 2 700 - 2 900 USD (depends on previous experience of the candidate), per diem included • R&R: Employee can use 3 additional days off (plus weekend) for this purpose and PIN will cover cost of one regional ticket up to 500 USD per year. Other expenses are to be covered by the employee. R&R may be combined with up to 5 days from annual leave or compensational leave • Reimbursement of travel expenses with travel to the country of residence once per every 6 months of work, extra flight ticket for Head of Mission to visit HQ in Prague • Reimbursement of costs of visas and vaccinations; assistance with visa application procedure • Medical helpdesk and psychological consultation available on line • Travel insurance covering war zones • Accommodation is in PIN guesthouse on PIN expenses • 25 days of paid leave annually
