DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY in association with Lady Margaret Hall
The Department of Zoology proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Genetics from 1 September 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be offered a Tutorship and Official Fellowship at Lady Margaret Hall under arrangements described in the further particulars. The combined University and college salary will be on a scale currently from £42,733 p.a.
The successful candidate will have a strong research background in experimental or analytical genetics or genomics, and will have a PhD, postdoctoral experience and a proven high quality research record. S/he will be expected to establish and direct a research programme in the field of genetics or genomics, particularly at the interface with ecology, evolution, animal behaviour or a related area. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduates on the Biological Sciences degree course.
The University Lecturer is expected to: (i) engage in original advanced research; (ii) to attract research funding and to publish in international refereed journals; (iii) to supervise and examine graduate students; (iv) to teach and examine Biological Sciences undergraduates.
