Resources Director Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) International Secretariat, based in Oslo, Norway, is now recruiting a Resources Director.

I. Duties

Finance and auditing arrangements:
- Support Board committees on Finance and Auditing.
- Ensure that Secretariat is on-track to meet its expenditure and revenue targets.
- Ensure that sound financial and auditing procedures are developed and followed.
- Ensure that contributions are sought in a timely and diplomatic manner, and that sound contracts/MoUs/other financial arrangements are made.

HR and administrative arrangements in office:
- Ensure that sound HR and admin procedures are developed, understood and followed.
- Oversee purchasing arrangements incl. travel, and IT.

Be part of senior management team and manage a team of 3-4 staff.

II. Skills and experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior office management ideally in an international environment.
- Knowledge and experience of Norwegian HR, financial, accounting and auditing laws, rules and procedures would be ideal.
- Strong management and interpersonal skills, ideally gained in a multi-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of IT is desirable.
- Fluent English. French and other languages are desirable.


III. Pay and Conditions
- The post is based in Oslo.
- A competitive salary package based on experience and in line with the EITI’s salary and benefits scheme.

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) aims to strengthen governance by improving transparency and accountability in the extractives sector. The EITI is a coalition of governments, companies and investors, civil society, investors and international organisations. It has developed a robust yet flexible methodology for monitoring and reconciling company payments and government revenues. The EITI Board and the international Secretariat are the guardians of the EITI process. Implementation takes place at the country level, in a process that emphasises multi-stakeholder participation.
