University Lecturer in Christian Ethics

Grade 10a: Salary £42,733 - £57,431 p.a.
The Faculty of Theology in the University of Oxford proposes to appoint to a University Lecturership in Christian Ethics, in association with a Tutorial Fellowship at Harris Manchester College, with effect from 1 October 2012, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be an established scholar with an excellent research profile who is able to contribute to various aspects of the work of the Theology Faculty.
The Lecturer is expected to have a primary field of expertise in Christian Ethics. He or she will work closely with the other Christian Ethics colleagues in co-ordinating and providing teaching for the Christian Moral Reasoning paper in both the BA in Theology and the BA in Philosophy and Theology degrees; in teaching and supervising research for relevant postgraduate degrees (MSt, MPhil, DPhil); and in fostering the academic community among students in the field. He or she will have a demonstrable readiness to work with colleagues in Christian Ethics, in other theological disciplines, and in other faculties and research centres in the Humanities will be essential.
