TITLE: Grant Accountant (2)
SUPERVISOR: Regional Finance manager
LOCATION: Yambio/Malakal
OPENING: Two Vacancy
Purpose of Position:
To provide technical support in financial management, risk assessment/ mitigation, reporting for grants, PNS funded programs
Major Responsibilities
• Ensure grants and PNS financial management is in compliance with terms, conditions, and donor requirements.
• Prepare, maintain and submit assets reconciliation reports, assets registers and ensure periodic assets physical inventory. Receiving and immediately dispatch assets of separating staff to the warehouse (preparing the necessary documentation and obtain approval).
• Participate in identifying assets for disposal and work closely with the Fixed Asset Committee.
• Participate in preparation of monthly Field Financial Report.
• Coordinate preparation, review and timely submission of donor periodic reports in line with grants agreement and partnership standards.
• Ensure timely preparation of LDR, subsequent reconciliation with payroll and updating grants database.
• Monitor budget utilization and ensure timely funding of projects.
• Ensure preparation of financial documents, review for authenticity, source accuracy, updateness, completeness and maintain robust filing system.
• Facilitate grant finance audit preparation, review management response and monitor implementation of audit recommendations
• Reconciliation of bank accounts and other accounts.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Requires a committed, honest and mature Christian.
• A minimum of Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Should have an experience working in the same field for at least 3 years.
• Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written English language.
• Must have good working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, preferably Sun Systems and Vision.
• Must be computer literate in using Microsoft office programs.
