Position Description:
Job Role:
The incumbent will be responsible to manage the Credit functions of the Bank as a whole. The major functions include preparation of loan proposals, loan documents, Loan Policy, Agenda Notes for the Board, inspection of securities, liaison with customers, compliance of statutory and regulatory requirements, etc.
Major Responsibilities:
Critical analysis and preparation of fresh loan proposal/ renewal of existing proposals for submission to various sanctioning authorities strictly observing the time schedule
While preparing proposal, BOT regulations and Loan Policy should be strictly followed.
Preparation of security documents, getting signature of the borrowers, follow up for registration of security documents with various authorities for perfection.
Pre-sanction, Post disbursement inspection of securities and inspection at regular intervals to be carried out as per the sanction terms and/or loan policy of the bank
All credit related operations such as opening of accounts, disbursement of loan, feeding correct limit, drawing power, rate of interest, collection of loan repayment and credit to correct borrowing accounts, passing of cheques etc.
Classification of correct impaired account as per BOT regulations and calculation of provision on impaired assets as per BOT Regulations and IFRS
Preparation and submission of various MIS to Regulators strictly as per the time schedule.
Follow up with the Borrower for repayment of loan, submission of various statements, insurance, land rent
receipts etc
Follow up with the Advocates on all legal matters. Attending court cases
Making correspondence with customers, various authorities,
Convene Credit Committee of the Board Meeting, preparation of agenda, action taken report and minutes.
Trouble shooting of problems related to credit with the help of Data .Centre, India.
Any additional duties may be assigned at the sole discretion of the management.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Tanzanians holding bachelor degree or equivalent qualifications need only apply.
Relevant professional qualifications in banking
Competence in computer applications
Candidates with relevant experience in banking and/or other financial institutions for at least 3 years out of which 1 year in a senior position will only be considered.
