VACANCY NOTICE
COMMISSIONS ANALYST II
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Commissions Analyst II within the Commissions Secretariat.
Responsibilities will include:
· Collect, collate, evaluate and analyze information to support the fulfillment of the constitutional responsibilities of the Commissions;
· Write reports (public and internal) for a given Commission;
· Provide support to the Commissions with the development of appropriate educational and media strategies;
· Maintain securely, the confidential records and files relating to a given Commission;
· Act as a focal point for all inquiries directed to the Commissions;
· Implement office procedures for handling matters addressed to the Secretariat;
· Ensure prompt and appropriate response to queries made by applicants. Ensure that accurate and up-to-date information is made available to the Director and members of the Commissions as required;
· Assist the Director with the dissemination of information to the public and other stakeholders as required;
· Monitoring compliance by public agencies and public officers with the specific laws enacted by the Legislative Assembly relating to each Commission;
· Serve as a recording secretary of community meetings and other public meetings held by the Commissions;
· Perform investigations as directed and prepare reports on various matters before the Commissions;
· Work in close collaboration with the Director and Commissions Analyst to complete research and compile briefing reports;
· Liaise with the relevant persons in Government and Non-Governmental agencies to facilitate the development of reports/research;
· Keep abreast with developments in the conduct of inquiries and maintenance of integrity of procedures;
· Assist with creating and administering mechanisms for monitoring the compliance of organizations/individuals to recommendations made by the Commissions.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must:
· Have a Bachelors Degree in History, Humanities, Law or Science;
· Five years experience at a middle management level would be an asset.
· Be familiar with the Montserrat Constitution Order 2010;
· Have excellent research, analytical and written skills;
· Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and other data management software;
· Have knowledge of website maintenance;
· Be able to able to communicate and work effectively with Secretariat staff, the general public and other government agencies;
· Be able to maintain confidentiality, be mature, responsible and determined. Honesty, self discipline, professional integrity and political neutrality are essential;
· Be able to plan and prioritize tasks to achieve objectives;
· Demonstrate an awareness of the social, financial and environmental factors that can influence the organization;
Terms of Appointment
Appointment will be made either on a permanent or contractual basis.
Remuneration
Salary is in the Scale R17-13 that is EC$57,312 to EC$63,648 per annum.
