Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Receive deposits and pay withdrawals according to laid down procedures;

Process all transactions before effecting any payment to customers;

Encourage customers to use electronic mediums(ATM);

Maintain sufficient cash and stationery at all times;

Maintain a neat and tidy workstation-practice. a clean desk policy;

portray a professional image;

Ensure proper identification of customers;

Exercise caution when executing transactions( Scrutinize before enchasing or depositing for any irregularities);

Keep update and apply warning circulars and stop payments;

Adhere to necessary controls measures to prevent theft. fraud and teller shortages or surpluses

Ensure recovery of all fees in terms of the prevailing tariff guide;

Adhere to cash limits at all times

Conform to authorized mandates at all times;

Adhere to procedures for protecting your own user ID and passwords;

Execute daily teller routines (Buying and selling cash. closing batches. balancing etc)

Manage security items e.g. cash teller stamps keys;

Cubicles and teller drawers to be kept locked when leaving workstation;

Follow prescribed instructions in event of robbery;

Report and record teller shortages and surpluses;

Build awareness keep up to date and comply with KYC regulations.

Qualifications & experience required:

Bachelors Degree/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. Economics; Accounting, Finance or any related qualifications

Excellent communication skills (Writing and speaking)

Minimum of 3 years working experience in banking industry

Competency in using Excel, word and advanced spreadsheet analysis is an added advantage

Internal Auditor

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure proper books of accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Accounting Standards;

To ensure all receipts and payments of the Bank are properly received and spent properly;

To ensure that the Bank's Financial Regulations are adhered to

To ensure implementation of various system introduced by the Bank;

Ensure that the Systems of Internal controls. both Physical and Financial are working effectively and that there are no deviations thereof;

To follow up and implement External Auditors queries/recommendations;

For expediency and taking a quick corrective measure the unit shall forward their findings hence any irregularities/apparent defects observed or discovered in the course of audit to the Head of Departments and copied to the Managing Director.

Qualification & experience required

Holder of Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting. Finance or its equivalent from any recognized Institution.

Experience of not less than three years (3) in the same field in banking industry

CPA is an added advantage

Competency in using Excel, word and advanced spreadsheet analysis is an added advantage

Receptionist/Messenger

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure punctuality and availability at all times.

Manage the flow of visitors at the branch offices.

Manage the flow of mail at the bank and ensure that all mails is properly

Recorded re directed to respective departments after they have been seen by the branch Manager and provided direction.

Prepare a Directory for telephone numbers, email addresses, website for easy communications

Arrange office routine properly.

Attend to preparation of Branch meetings;

Provide services to Branch/Management committee meetings

Ensure Branch Managers office and surroundings are kept c1ean (Supervise cleaners)

Keep update of all files;

Ensure sufficient office supplies are available at all times(teas, stationery etc);

Maintain a tidy work station practice;

Adhere to Mkombozi Commercial Bank dress code;

Establish good relationship with regular visitors;

Refer customers to appropriate key service department/staff;

portray the banks image to the visitors;

Be a role model in portraying MKCB's good image;

Ensure customer/staff information is kept confidential and only released to the right person;

Assist branch staff in carrying steel boxes (I.e. cash or controlled stationary);

Open and close the bank doors for customers on time;

Photocopy and bind documents;

Qualification & experience required

A high school/Certificate /Diploma is basic to the position

An experience of 2 years as a messenger in another bank is an added advantage

Adequate comprehension skills to understand directions

A good command of the English language both verbal and written

Highly trustworthy in handling fiduciary matters for bank deposits

Has above average interpersonal skills to deal with office receptionists receiving packages

Branch Accountant

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare revenue for processing; Maintaining all branch book of accounting;

Prepare and timely submit regular internal/external reports to H/O and BOT

Balancing of branch book of accounts

Tracks revenue transactions through monthly report reconciliations; Process clearances and collections of clients' instruction;

Monitoring the minimum and maximum cash levels on a day to day basis and; Handling any treasury related activities and provide technical support in accounting for treasury related instruments and any other accounting requirements as deemed necessary;

Reconciliation of ATM;

Transfer of funds by TISS/SWIFT;

Safeguarding of branch assets;

Management of staff;

Ensure proper control of customer records;

Ensure proper performance of customer services; Selling of bank products and services;

Serve as a committee/team member relevant to assigned duties; Maintains revenue filing system in a timely fashion;

Performs research related to revenue transactions.

Maintains inventory of supplies and orders as needed;

Tracks deliveries and verifies;

Coordinates maintenance of office equipment and processes work orders; Book keeping and primary accounting records and petty cash imprest management

Filing and coding of all vouchers/documents as per chart of accounts. Including proper verification of receipts and payments to ensure accuracy of information;

Preparing of monthly and annual reports of all Income and Expenditure results trial balance extraction bank reconciliation and income statements;

Any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications & experience required:

MBA-Bachelors Degree/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Accountancy or any related qualifications

CPA is an added advantage

Minimum of 5 years working experience in banking industry in managerial position. .

Competency in using Excel, word and advanced spreadsheet analysis is an added advantage.

Marketing Officer

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Look for new customers and take over business from competitors Contribute to business growth by meeting sales targets set.

Maximise business customer experience with MKCB

Achieve agreed sales targets by soliciting new customers and pro-actively selling back products.

Maximise customer experience by meeting their needs and expectations. Market the banks products by (eating awareness of the bank and its products to the public. .

Penetrate the current market by increasing number of depositors and borrowers.

Build a loyal base of customers

Adhere to policies and procedures. Manage career and personal development

Maintain own sales performance statistics for management usage. Identify and meet customer needs through selling and cross-selling MKCB products and services.

Visit existing and prospective corporate clients on a regular basis and write feedback reports on the visits.

Build effective working relationships with co-workers to ensure a quick turnaround time of queries, requests and complaints from corporate clients. Act as a role model in building MKCB's image.

Comply and keep up to date with all policies and procedures.

Build awareness, keep up to date and comply with KYC and AML regulations. Possess competent knowledge in MKCB products and services

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Customer Service Supervisor

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure punctuality and availability to clients at all times;

Offer services to customers according to laiddown procedures; Assist customers in filling forms that need to be completed; Advice customers on fees payable;

Ensure all customers request are executed immediately and followed up regularly so as to honor commitments made to customers;

Capture customer information in system. promptly to enable quick and accurate services;

Promote the use of electronic medium (ATM'S, lnternet banking etc);

Identify close selling opportunities and pass leads to sales consultants; portray a professional image;

Ensure proper identification of customers;

Ensure fees are collected ion terms of the prevailing tariff guide;

Ensure warning circulars and stop payments are immediately acted upon; Ensure returned/Unpaid cheques are processed and handled over to customers

as soon as possible;

Adhere to necessary controls measures to prevent theft and fraud;

Maintain and control applicable registers;

Maintain and refer to customer cheque lists as required;

Adhere to procedures for protecting your own user ID and passwords;

Build awareness keep up to date and comply with KYC and AML Regulations; Ensure customer information is kept confidential and only released to the right persons;

Adhere to all control measures (checks. dual control) in respect of cheque book libraly, fixed deposit receipts., ATM Cards, controlled stationery, destruction of security documents etc;

Execute flagging of lost cards, stop payments and other instructions promptly;

Assist with Audit queries/requests;

Ensure customer mandates are always kept up to date;

Ensure customer information and signatures are up-to-date promptly in the system

Execute daily routines;

Ensure the book room is neat and orderly arranged;

Keep updated of all circulars, manuals and policies; proactively identify personal development areas and training needs; Understand/operate bankers' rearm and equipments; and

Handling strong room keys in the absence of Branch Manager

Qualifications & experience required:

Credit Supervisor (3)

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities

Recommend approval of loans applications within policy guidelines

Regularly review non -performing classes of outstanding loans and initiates plans/strategies for recovery of those loans;

Administering group loans application, appraisal and disbursement; Administering Group formation in corroboration with branch manager and head of credit;

Training Customers the use of Bank products;

Managing loan portfolio to ensure that the portfolio at risk is very small; Preparation of portfolio monthly and Quarterly reports;

Answer enquiries concerning loan balances, penalties and credit standing of customers;

Keep records of arrears (behind in payments) and prepare routine letters or make telephone calls requesting payment;

Make recommendations to the Head of Credit and Branch Manager about the likelihood of recovering loans and whether legal action will be required; Prepare reports on credit ratings of customers;

Relocates, identifies, seeks contact with defaulters and reminds them of their obligations towards the bank and/or discusses with them how to serve the outstanding loan. This shall involve a re-analysis of the defaulter's financial status followed by a comprehensive agreement with the customer on a rescheduled repayment plan;

Properly classifies all loans under his/her control and informs Head of Credit of necessary provisions every month;

Performs daily, weekly: monthly loan accounting work, as required for off balance sheet loans (written off);

Compiles all required periodic recovery returns for the Branch;

To ensure strict and continuous follow-up of his/her outstanding portfolio by checking the daily up-dated arrears list;

To ensure that records of all loans paid off are properly filed away and securities are delivered to legitimate owners;

Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications & experience required

Degree in a relevant field (Masters preferred)

A minimum of 5 years working experience within the Banking services sector. Substantial experience in credit analysis for retail banking

Excellent communication skills

Loan Officer

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities

As Credit Risk Owner, identifies, mitigates, and monitors risks in credit function; Plans and initiates strategies for portfolio development and recovery of loans; Conducts market surveys and identifies new and viable markets for lending business;

Reviews lending policies and procedures on a regular basis and submits appropriate improvement plans and strategies;

Coordinates all recovery activities and ensures prompt recovery;

Monitors and controls the performance of all loans, and overdrafts including staff loans;

Compiles, disseminates and monitors implementation of lending policies, procedures and Central Bank regulations. (Especially regarding classification and recovery of outstanding portfolio);

Ensures that proper securities are taken on and registered in accordance with letters of Analyses arrears rate on monthly bests:

Devises, and keeps to, roster for regular visitation of businesses in order to assess lending performance;

Prepare monthly credit statistics and reports to the Branch Manager;

Submits quarterly reports to Branch Manager on overall lending performance;

Identifies old loans previously handed to lawyers and contacts lawyers so as to ascertain the current position of these cases;

To ensure follow-up of all legal cases by following up cases handled' by auctioneers and lawyers;

Qualifications & experience required

Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Business administration Finance or any related

A minimum of 2 years working experience within the Banking services sector.

Substantial experience in credit analysis for retail banking

Excellent communication skills.

Customer Service Officer

Position Description:

Key Responsibilities

Branch Manager

Position Description:

Key responsibilities:

Deliver fast efficient and customer friendly services to customers

Create and maintain the database for clients who open and operate accounts with the bank

Process clearance and collections of clients' institutions Carry out fund transfer in accordance with regulations. Perform short term lending in line with approved regulations

Perform customer services functions such as scrutinizing various applications providing balances and statements and attending to their queries and complains

Buying and selling forex in order to add value to customers and increases the income of the bank.

Manage ATM transactions and ensure reconciliation of same Keep branch records accurate and safe

Carry out regular departmental performance review Prepare budget for the branch

Enhance the image of the bank to the public

In liaison with IT specialist prepare and align ICT strategies with the corporate plan

Review work performance of staff including their development deployment annual appraisal, training and welfare in line with the bank's objectives and policies.

Ensure full internal policies/procedures statutory and regulatory compliance Effect disbursement of loans according to approval

Control expenditure/costs within approved budget

Perform short term lending in line with approved lending limits and policies Chairperson to the branch Management and credit committee

Custodian of the bank strong room assets where by in your absence another senior officer shall be appointed to hold the key

Review work performance of the branch staff periodically and submit report on quarterly basis

Define staff training gaps and ensure staff training and retraining of staff is done properly.

Ensure that the bank assets under your jurisdiction are adequately ensured Manage cash/liquidity of the branch in collaboration with other head office departments .. with the aim of satisfying the bank's customers demands while ensuring efficient funds

In collaboration with Finance Manager ensure placing the excess cash in short term investments

Prepare and submit on timely basis regular internal, regulatory and statutory reports

Ensure security of the branch premises and assets is maintained at high standards at all times in liolsorrwith other units with security maintenance responsibilities.

Qualification & experience required:

MBA, Bachelors Degree/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. Finance .Accountancy or any related qualifications

CPA is an added advantage

Minimum of 5 years working experience in banking industry in managerial position

Competency in using Excel word and advanced spreadsheet analysis is an added advantage.
