Key responsibilities:
Deliver fast efficient and customer friendly services to customers
Create and maintain the database for clients who open and operate accounts with the bank
Process clearance and collections of clients' institutions Carry out fund transfer in accordance with regulations. Perform short term lending in line with approved regulations
Perform customer services functions such as scrutinizing various applications providing balances and statements and attending to their queries and complains
Buying and selling forex in order to add value to customers and increases the income of the bank.
Manage ATM transactions and ensure reconciliation of same Keep branch records accurate and safe
Carry out regular departmental performance review Prepare budget for the branch
Enhance the image of the bank to the public
In liaison with IT specialist prepare and align ICT strategies with the corporate plan
Review work performance of staff including their development deployment annual appraisal, training and welfare in line with the bank's objectives and policies.
Ensure full internal policies/procedures statutory and regulatory compliance Effect disbursement of loans according to approval
Control expenditure/costs within approved budget
Perform short term lending in line with approved lending limits and policies Chairperson to the branch Management and credit committee
Custodian of the bank strong room assets where by in your absence another senior officer shall be appointed to hold the key
Review work performance of the branch staff periodically and submit report on quarterly basis
Define staff training gaps and ensure staff training and retraining of staff is done properly.
Ensure that the bank assets under your jurisdiction are adequately ensured Manage cash/liquidity of the branch in collaboration with other head office departments .. with the aim of satisfying the bank's customers demands while ensuring efficient funds
In collaboration with Finance Manager ensure placing the excess cash in short term investments
Prepare and submit on timely basis regular internal, regulatory and statutory reports
Ensure security of the branch premises and assets is maintained at high standards at all times in liolsorrwith other units with security maintenance responsibilities.
Qualification & experience required:
MBA, Bachelors Degree/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. Finance .Accountancy or any related qualifications
CPA is an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years working experience in banking industry in managerial position
Competency in using Excel word and advanced spreadsheet analysis is an added advantage.
