Due to business expansion DHL SUPPLY CHAIN UGANDA is seeking suitably qualified candidates for the following positions: HGV ARTICULATED TRUCK DRIVERS (35 POSTS) The HGV drivers will be responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of the Company fleet in order to provide an end to end delivery service. Drivers will be required to observe all HSE requirements, protect company assets, complete all documentation and have the ability to do regular maintenance and emergency breakdown service.

Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: At least "0" Level School certificates with sound literacy levels At feast 4 years relevant experience with a good track record and references in a similar position Preferably experience in tankers and long haulage from a reputable company Knowledge of pre-journey inspection processes Must possess a Valid Heavy Goods Vehicles Driving Permit with no endorsements A Certificate of Good Conduct will be required Previous exposure to Defensive Driving courses / techniques will be an added advantage Tracking & Transport assistants The Tracking & Transport assistants will be responsible for the proactive planning, tracking and monitoring of the fleet to ensure that delivery schedules are met. This will include having consistent contact with the drivers, enhancing road safety and enhancing security by rapidly detecting abnormal behavior. They will analyze fleet movement, use GPS reports to track transits. Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors Degree/Diploma in a business related field (Logistics 8 transport) will be an advantage Sound knowledge of all import & export processes and relevant documentation 8 legislation Excellent negotiation ability and customer service orientation Proven ability to utilize multiple computerized tracking tools and GPS systems, ability to generate reports 2-3 years experience in a similar role in transport management would be preferred Knowledge of relevant transport and labour regulations and the implementation thereof in the planning process ASSISTANT TRANSPORT MANAGER Responsible for organizing and controlling transport resources to ensure delivery of cost efficient service. Will work closely with all team members to manage transport schedules, plan vehicle utilization, meet service levels and manage fleet processes. Candidate will have the ability to ensure statutory obligations are met and HSE requirements are adhered to. Will be responsible for the recruitment and management of the Driver team under leadership of the Transport Manager. Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors Degree/Diploma in a business related field Proven experience in transport planning and forecasting Experience in the management of budgets and implementation of appropriate cost controls 2-3 years experience in Transport Management 1 Computer literacy in all relevant Microsoft Packages. Strong customer and team orientation Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, influence results and balance conflicting priorities. Excellent negotiation skills Store Supervisor Will be responsible for the Workshop Store and manage the computerized workshop management system. Responsibilities include purchase requisitions; stock level maintenance and governance of all assets in the store. Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Degree/Diploma in Purchasing & Supplies will be an advantage. Proven practical knowledge of Workshop operations Computer literate and able to manipulate data in MS Office. 3 years relevant experience in the ope ration of stores Good analytical skills and ability to use data to effectively manage the store Demonstrated experience in the management of teams in an environment with a zero tolerance WELDERS Welders will be assisting with vehicle inspections, and repair structures as directed by management while observing the relevant Health 8 Safety 8 Environment rules and regulations. Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Certificate in Welding and/or other workshop apprenticeships Knowledge of mechanical practices including care of tools, equipment, workshop and vehicles. Knowledge of Welding, Cutting and brazing including fabrication techniques of steel and aluminum Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar position with a certificate of good conduct and references. SENIOR MOTOR VEHICLE ELECTRICIANS Electricians will be responsible for all general electrical repairs on vehicles and trucks in the fleet and on site. Includes emergency repairs; supervision of contracted repairs; scheduled maintenance. Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Relevant Electrical Certificate /diploma with relevant registrations Good understanding of workshop practices and ability to work within HSE requirements Ability to understand electrical drawings and manuals in English Proven ability to produce relevant reports and maintenance schedules Preferably proven experience in vehicle electronics and diagnostics 3+ years relevant experience in a similar field. CONTRACT ANALYST The Analyst will be providing analytical, business intelligence and prepare, analyse and present reports to assist management in making sound decisions. These reports will focus on business performance, quality management, budgeting and forecasting related to the fleet and contract. Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors Degree in business related discipline, ideally logistics or finance. Proven experience in the management and analysis of complex Excellent ability to communicate trends to varied stakeholders Advanced computer skills with the ability to manipulate data on various Microsoft platforms Previous understanding of logistical operational processes will be a distinct advantage Good communication skills (both verbal and written) in English. SECURITY OFFICER Candidate will be accountable for the comprehensive management of site security and compliance with DHL Security Guidelines. Includes the planning and management of security guards; incident reporting; visitor management; recordkeeping and protection of all DHL property, assets and employees. Will be involved in security audits; risk assessments and investigations and actively participate in monitoring of stock during transit Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: At least 5 years experience in the management of security in a production or transport environment Computer literate and able to use MS Office Excellent negotiation skills Proven ability to conduct investigations, keep records and liaise with external stakeholders including government officials Certificate of good conduct from police Must be well versed with traffic regulations of Uganda and Kenya IT SUPPORT ASSISTANT Candidate will be responsible to maintain and administer the LAN and support all computer users. Includes maintenance of server; troubleshooting; implementation of DHL standards and network optimization. Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Graduate in an IT field with practical experience in computer systems operations Demonstrated knowledge and ability in CISCO Routers, DTUs (lease lines), HP, Dell Servers, Windows 2003 server environment and Database systems preferably MS SQL. Knowledgeable in MS Office 2003 and active directory structure. Knowledgeable in MS Exchange 2003, SQL, Share-point and web applications Software installations, backup and archiving ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT Role will provide full administrative support to the business. Will include filing systems, database management, petty cash management, support to the procurement system. Candidate will be able to reconcile documentation and manage authorization Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Suitable diploma / administrative qualification 8 at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar environment Advanced proficiency on MS Office is essential Basic accounting knowledge will be an advantage. Proven ability to work in an environment with multiple priorities Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict and build good relationships. HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER Will provide comprehensive HR support services including recruitment, process management, performance management, support technical training and maintain employee records Requirement: Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors Degree/Diploma preferably in HR related field 3 years relevant proven experience in HR Management, production environment will be an advantage Demonstrated knowledge of the Uganda Labour Relations Legislation, past experience in CBA environment an advantage. Well developed feedback skills, English written 8 verbal communication skills Computer literate, able to produce complex reports on MS Office Experience in dealing with conflict and complex labour relations Ability to analyse HR costs 8 manage within budget.
