Do you have a proven track record in project implementation and strategic planning and a good understanding of current relief and development issues? We are seeking a credible WASH specialist with environmental experience to work as part of the senior management team to provide technical advice for the design, implementation and management of WASH projects for our Disaster Management Programme in Sudan.
You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting field teams in numerous locations across Darfur on the assessment, management, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH projects. In addition you will be responsible for advising on the programme’s environmental response and in building positive relationships regarding the WASH sector within the NGO community and government departments. You will have a degree or equivalent in a related sector and be a credible advisor with proven leadership, negotiation, analytical and representation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.
Good cross-cultural awareness and willingness to travel in basic conditions are essential, combined with a genuine heart for the poor. This post may involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific checks related to child protection issues.
