Mechanical Technician

The role

As part of the Sandvik team you will be responsible for assisting the Workshop Manager / Supervisor in general repairs to all components brought to the workshop and making sure that daily tasks are completed accurately.

Responsibilities

The position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions.

• Installation and repairs to fire suppression systems
• Evaluation of components for forward planning
• Repairs to all components brought to workshop ie cylinders etc
• Machine rebuilds
• Daily reporting to shop supervisors
• Housekeeping in the workshop, and surrounding work areas
• Ensure all filing(history) is up to date and managed correctly
• Any other duties or instructions from Supervisors or Managers
• Adhere to all Sandvik OHS and Environment policies and procedures

Your profile

• Form IV with passes in Maths & Physics
• Qualification in FTC mechanicpreferred
• Component repair experience
• 5 Years’ Experience on mechanised mining equipment. Sandvik equipment would be a preference.
• Willing to do Field Service work where needed (out of station)
• English Proficiency
• Medically fit to work in a mining / construction environment
• Team Orientated
• Commitment to Sandvik’s Core Values
