Livelihood Development Officer

Job Description

Livelihood Development Officer will work with community members to establish and grow small businesses around vanilla production and forest restoration.  Will identify business development gaps and will work with community members to develop business plans, market linkages, and promotion techniques to fill identified gaps.  Will assist individuals to form a vanilla cooperative and establish formal government registration.

Skills

Applicants need at least a diploma in business, community development or a related field, or three years’ experience in community development.  Must be a self-starter who can work well in a team with limited oversight.

Horticulture Officer

Job Description

The Horticulture Officer will work with cooperatives and individuals to establish and improve and expand vanilla production and forest restoration using tree species native to Pemba Island.

Will work closely with existing cooperatives to identify gaps in current production practices, and provide guidelines for improving production.  Will establish and manage a research and development spice forest nursery at CFP’s Rural Innovation Campus.  Will work with existing farmers to improve production and establish new spice forests in communities throughout Pemba.

Livelihood Development Officer atawasaidia wanajamii kuanzisha mashamba na kuboresha biashara ya Vanila na upandaji wa miti yenye asili ya Pemba.  Atachangamanua changamoto za maendeleo ya biashara na atawasaidia wanajamii kutayarisha mipango ya biashara ya Vanila, mahusiano ya masoko, na jinsi ya kufanya promosheni.  Atawasaidia wanajamii kusajili shirika la Vanila.

Mafunzo

Waombaji wanatakiwa wawe wamemaliza diploma ya biashara au maedeleo ya jamii, au kuwa na miaka mitatu ya uzoefu.  Wanatakiwa kuwa na uwezo wa kufanya kazi na usimamizi kiwango cha chini na kuwa na uwezo kwenda fieldi kufanya kazi siku mzima.

Horticulture Officer atafanya kazi na wanajamii na vyama vya ushirika kuanza, kuboresha na kueneya upandaji wa vanilla na miti ya asili katika Kisiwa cha Pemba.  Atachangamanua changamoto za uvunaji wa Vanila na atatayarisha ushauri wa kuboresha uvunaji.  Atashirikiana na wakulima wa zao hilo kutayarisha misitu ya Vanila na miti ya asili kwenye jamii za Pemba.

Mafunzo

Waombaji wanatakiwa wawe wamemaliza diploma ya horticulture au agriculture, au kuwa na miaka mitatu ya uzoefu wa upandaji, uvunaji na utayarishaji wa zao la Vanila.  Wanatakiwa kuwa na uwezo wa kufanya kazi na usimamizi kiwango cha chini na kuwa na uwezo kwenda fieldi kufanya kazi siku mzima.

Jinsi ya Kuomba

Barua ya maombi inatakiwa iwasilishwe kwa lugha ya Kiingereza pamoja na CV ya muombaji, na nakala za vyeti vyake.  Mwisho wa kupokea maombi ni siku ya Jumatano tarehe 16 Novemba 2016.  Wanawake wenye sifa watapewa kipaumbele.
