WELDING AND FABRICATION ADVISER

Role overview

The Welding and Fabrication Adviser will work with Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) teachers to provide advice, coaching and where possible support other workshops in welding and fabrication related operations.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Professional qualifications and experience:

Essential
Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Welding and fabrication), Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification
Have at least three years in welding maintenance department of a factory or an establishment such as a hospital, public utility company or office building.
Have at least two years experience in practical vocational training

Desirable:
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience of working in a developing country.
Experience of working in Low resource settings

METAL WORK ADVISOR 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Role overview

The volunteer will work collaboratively with Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) in Mtwara, Lindi, Morogoro and Dar es Salaam. Providing advice, coaching, training to the identified marginalized youth and where possible support other workshops in metal works and aluminium fitting and related operations. The volunteer will also participate in developing/reviewing curriculum, developing adapted vocational training manual and courses for master craftspeople

Skills, qualifications and experience

University degree in Metal Work or Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification with particular experience in steel work, metal sheet work, pipe fitting and aluminum fitting.

Experience of three or more years in teaching methodology from vocational training facility or related institution.
Facilitation and negotiation skills
Computer literacy .
