Duty station: SOS Children’s Villages Mwanza Programme
Reporting to: Program Manager Mwanza
Roles and Responsibilities
Community Health System Strengthening to respond to health needs of Most Vulnerable children
Build strong partnership with local government authority(District Medical Officer) to improve quality of health services delivery to Most Vulnerable Children and their Families
Support delivery of prevent health services at household level and community.
Work with District Executive Director to strengthen capacity of health facilities in the Programme Area to deliver quality health services to children and women.
Facilitate capacity building of health workers in the programme area
Advocate with local government authority to allocate budget to support Most Vulnerable children and families to access health services
Work with District Medical Offer to improve access to regular reproductive health services to Vulnerable families and youth
Facilitate training of Caregivers within the project area on prevention of HIV/AIDs
Design health programme to respond to health needs of Most Vulnerable Children in the Programme Area
Facilitate planning and implementation of WASH interventions in the Project area
Qualifications.
Must be a seasoned Public Health Officer with at least a Diploma. Bachelor degree in health management disciplines will be added advantage.
3-8 years of working as district Public Health Officer
Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure
Strong health planning programs, organizational planning and follow up skills and mechanisms.
Experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating health projects;
Experience in developing and managing health related budgets;
Fluent in oral and written English; demonstrated excellent report writing skills.
Good computer skills including excel ,word, outlook and PowerPoint
