Duty station: SOS Children’s Village Dar es salaam (1post)
Reporting to: Programme Manager Dar es Salaam
Roles & Responsibilities
Providing strong effective leadership to Family Based Care Programme and staff working on the Programme
Leading the SOS community comprising of children, youth, SOS mothers and staff, supporting the children’s educational, emotional development and physical needs.
Supervise the work of Social Workers, Village Educator, sponsorship secretary and Professional Mothers
Champion fundraising initiatives and activities for supporting Programme activities
Managing the planning and activity programs, as well as the financial and administrative function of the SOS Children’s Village.
Representing the Family Based Care Programme in different forums and meeting focusing on alternative child care and parenting.
Being a role model for the children, youth, mothers and staff.
Planning effective recruitment of children into the programme and exit from the programme support
This candidate should have knowledge and skills on partnership building with various take holders such as Government officials, NGOs, FBOs as well as with the private sector
Development and implement Public relation Strategies to improve Visibility of the programme to increase local sponsorship to the programme and children participating in the Programme.
Should have an ability to support design and implementation of project proposals in order to enhance resource mobilization
A working knowledge on HR and performance management
Academic Qualification and Experiences:
University graduate in Social Work/Psychology, Guidance and Counselling
Working experiences should include: at least 3 - 4 years progressive work at key positions (in management) in a stretching / modern working environment preferably working with children and youth programmes.
Strong background and understanding of child protection and safeguarding
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
The candidate should possess the emotional stability to lead and guide the large community of children and staff, maintaining the required high standards.
With record of a stable family social and emotional life
Strong attachment and passion to children
Computer literate
Must be Married and mature (male or female) aged 33-45 years and willing to live within the SOS Village
Note: The position requires Family Based Care Coordinator(Village Father) to live within the SOS Children’s Village
