2. Credit Manager
Job Purpose
A management position that carries full responsibility for the credit approval and management process in respect of a portfolio. Develep and maintain co-operative
relationships between all stakeholders in the credit value chain. This position will likely include leadership responsibility for a team of Credit Analysts I Officers.
To safeguard and implement credit controls, by ensuring all security documents patterning to various credit facilities are properly executed and maintained in safe custody.
Key Responsibilities
• Analysis of credit applications to assess whether the credit risk is in line with the Bank's Credit Appetite, Central Bank Guidelines and relative to the profitability of the transaction
• Define and recommend to Head of Credit through close liaison with business units, realistic and acceptable parameters of the Bank's risk appetite in terms of business activities and products, size and nature of clients, industry.
• Effective provision of analyses and recommendations where applications require referral
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of credit risks arising from exposures booked
• To complete independent risk assessments and management process within tile Bank, monitoring compliance with risk related requirements and. limits imposed by regulators and the Bank
• To ensure that credit facilities are prepared and approved in compliance with established policies and exposure limits set by regulators and the Bank.
• To identify, evaluate and recommend mitigation of risks associated with credit proposals/corporate finance deals and report risk exposures arising from business units
• To make recommendations on necessary implements/amendments to credit policies and procedures and ensure that these are implemented as and when approved.
• Submit well prepared, well researched and well-reasoned recommendations on Credit Proposals in accordance with the Bank's Credit Policy.
Documentation:
• Joint effort in preparation and supervision of offer letters for approved facilities.
• Instructing Lawyers to prepare legal documents for customers pledged securities.
• Close follow up with law firms on the whole issue of preparation and registration of security documents to ensure firm control and ownership of security properties during entire lending period.
• Issuance and update of progress trading report of security documents to ensure proper perfection so as to mitigate risks in terms of losses that may result from impertection of securities.
• Ensure disbursements of approved facilities in strict adherence to set bank's credit policies and prudential guidelines.
Qualifications
• University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related course.
• Not less than 4 years of banking experience and 3 years lending/credit related activities specifically in managerial position.
• Credit evaluation experience with complex credit and structured financing.

Excellent customer service skills with an honest and trustworthy manner
