Project Coordinator-Engineer
Responsibilities
• Provide effective management of all drawings and project documentation; to ensure that they are processed and actioned as appropriate.
• Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect snags and construction defects; ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable code, report on the progress and quality of work
• Observes / records testing required by contract documents for the purpose of recording
• Monitors contractor construction schedules for the purpose of ensuring projects are completed within established timelines
• Construction supervision for the purpose of ensuring projects are completed within specifications and in compliance with local/state regulation.
• Working with suppliers to negotiate rates and compliance with specified quality requirements
• Preparation of construction sites for site setup works to facilitate contractors
• Coordination and supervision of teams of building contractors on site
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• An engineering degree or comparable technical training is needed for this position.
• A minimum of three years' experience in the construction industry is desirable.
• Working knowledge of engineering services-Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing etc
• Understand and execute oral and written instructions.
• Ability to interpret building construction plans and specifications
• Maintain records and prepare reports of work accomplished
• Judge the quality of workmanship in the building trades
• Advanced PC user (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Explorer)
• Aware of document management and retrieval systems
• Knowledge of the Tanzanian Building Code and other regulations and requirements applicable to work assignments
