GIZ is looking to fill two positions of Regional Coordinator in the Tanzanian-German Programme to Support Health, TGPSH.
Duty station: a) Tanga, b) Mbeya
Fixed term contract
A. Responsibilities
The regional coordinator is responsible for managing the programme activities in the region in accordance with the regional work plans coordinating TGPSH activities with partners networking with important stakeholders innovation and knowledge management in the region communication of innovations supervises and coordinates the support and administrative staff at the programme office managing his/her areas of responsibility that forms part of the TGPSH objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
B.Tasks
1. Management. responsibility
The regional coordinator is responsible for the orders and measures in the programme that are assigned to him/her managing the regional office and ensuring that it is run cost-effectively
2. Professional advisory services
The regional coordinator
contributes to preparing and implementing the coordination process, joint programme activities and work in the regions
monitors the development and implementation of programme plans and activities in close consultation with counterparts
3.Networking and Cooperation
The regional coordinator
Supports cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partners; assists PR work and cooperates with local communities, relevant organizations ,non. governmental agencies and individuals in the programme environment and with other projects to improve and maintain good working relationships
communicates local interests and efforts, forwards these and encourages sharing ideas and information for the benefit of the programme
travels in the region, in accordance with project requirements
4. Knowledge management
The regional coordinator
Contributes to draw up reports and presentation documents
formulates appropriate input for various programme reports including annual reports, and contributes to the other reports required by the programme manager and GIZ Head Office
assists with research activities and studies on issues which benefit joint programmes.
5. Coordination tasks
The regional coordinator
Assists programme activities planning for the region coordinates and prioritises relevant TGPSH activities at the regional level in cooperation with the partners
manages and monitors the budget in consultation with the TL and the programme Administrator
compiles the relevant information for joint activities and assignments
C. Required qualifications, competences and experience
masters/MSc or post graduate diploma in Business Administration, degree in Public Health is an asset at least 3 to 5 years' professional experience in a comparable position , very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
fluent written and oral knowledge of the English language and a working knowledge of German
willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed corresponding measures are agreed with management
